الطبع غلب التطبع

يعني هذا المثل أن الصفات الطبيعية التي يولد بها الإنسان تتغلب على الصفات التي يكتسبها من البيئة أو التربية أو التعلم. ويستخدم هذا المثل للتعبير عن عدم قدرة الإنسان على تغيير طباعه الأساسية بسهولة، خاصة إذا كانت سيئة أو مضرة. ويقال أن هذا المثل مأخوذ من قصة قديمة عن ملك ووزير ورجل جاء بقطط مدربة على حمل الشموع، ولكن عندما أطلق الوزير فئراناً أمامها، تركت القطط الشموع وركضت وراء الفئران، فقال الملك: الطبع غلب التطبع.
